forest park

Yesterday we took a little trip to Forest Park.  It is this beautiful park in the middle of the city.  It is very large, with lots of big beautiful trees and many things to entertain just about anyone.  It has tennis courts, basket ball courts, soccer fields, ball diamonds, bocce ball fields, playgrounds, a rose garden, running tracks, a Zoo, and much more.  We packed a lunch and went to explore.

We visited the Zoo.  It is a small Zoo in comparison to the Phoenix Zoo, but it isn't the only Zoo around here.

We saw:
some bunnies

some cougars

this very loud Peacock

a big fat black bear
(he wouldn't stop moving, hence the blurry picture!)

this cheetah

kangaroos
and many more animals.  It was very entertaining!

Next, we ate lunch and enjoyed the beautiful weather, finally no rain!

Then it was on to the playground!
Abbie went down this slid almost a thousand times, seriously!

Owen, talking to his new friend Ava.
She & her Mom invited us to go with them to Forest Park.

aren't these trees beautiful?  I can't get over how green and lush it is here!

Abbie has become very independent.  She wanted to climb this all by herself, and she would not give up.  She kept saying, "I try".  She is very stubborn, I don't know where she gets it from?

She wouldn't give up!

After the playground, we walked through the beautiful rose garden.  The smell was amazing!  These pictures don't do it justice.  It was so pretty!  Owen, however was not as impressed.  He was totally freaked out by the amount of bees that where flying around all those roses!

I feel I must inform my readers that due to my recent relocation, my blog posts are going to become quite long, & possibly  to some, boring.  But, I would really like to document our family adventures here on the east coast.  I do this blog mainly for our families who live so far away & subsequently miss out on my children's day to day lives.  I hope these posts will give you a little taste of what we are experiencing here in New England.  Enjoy!
