I feel like I fell off the face of the earth! Between packing & vacations & moving I have not used my computer in such a long time. Well folks, I am back! I am super excited about it too! We are finally all moved into our new house. Well, new to us. This house was built in 1952. And let me tell you, moving is such a pain. As soon as we moved in we smelt gas! I know what you are thinking (not that kind of gas)! We called the gas company and discovered we had a gas leak! They of course shut it off. So here we are in this house, and we can't cook because the stove is gas! Then we discovered a leak under the kitchen faucet! Not to worry, Lenny came to the rescue & fixed that one (who knew he was so handy?). We also had to buy a washer & dryer, which still hasn't been delivered! I have at least 20 loads of laundry, I am not kidding!
After about 4 days without gas, the stove company finally graced us with their presence. While he was here fixing the leak, it began to rain. When I say rain, I mean pour! My mother-in-law, went down in the basement during all this and came running up to tell us our basement was flooding! I had just gotten out of the shower & was ready for bed. While Len was dealing with the gas man Val & I ran outside and began bailing water out of the window wells with paper cups. It was awesome. Soon Len came out to take my place, & I had to pack up Abbie in the car & run to Lowes to buy drain extenders. So here I am running through Lowes soaking wet, in my pajamas & I suddenly realize I am not wearing a bra, and to top it all off, my t-shirt is white! It was awesome! I was so white trash! I also had baggy blue gingham capri pants on! Cute!
We have finally fixed the leaks & our gas is back on, but I won't get my washer & dryer until thursday. Otherwise we are doing well, I think. Today my mother-in-law is going home, and we are really going to miss her! She doesn't stop working! She has completely changed our yard! We have had five different neighbors comment on how good it looks!!!! She is amazing! We are so excited! I am planning on posting some pictures of the house, inside & out in a few days, so stay tuned! Sorry this post was so long & lame, but I have really been missing this!
