HELP!!!!!!!

Next week is career day at Owen's school.  His teacher sent home a sign up sheet for any parents willing to talk to the class about their job.  Len is going to be working, so I decided that I would help out.  I thought it might be fun to come and talk to Owen's class.  That doesn't sound too bad, right?

Wrong!!!!!!

The school called me today to inform me that I will be speaking to the entire school during the career day assembly next week!  I am freaking out!  I can't talk to the entire school!  I was already a little nervous about talking to Owen's class, let alone an entire gym full of kids!!!!!!  I am not entertaining, I am not interesting, I don't have anything to say!!!!  What am I going to do?  Help me please!!!  Any advice?????

Yikes! You will be fine. You are so funny! I love to read your blog because I get a good laugh from time to time. Just think how awesome Owen will think it will be to see his Mom up there. I bet he talks about it for weeks. Good luck!

Hmmmm...... not really my area of expertise..... The last time I got up in public my mind went completely blank and I just stood there like a big idiot.
But I'm sure you will be fine. LOL.
Just remember to write it all down and rehearse.... rehearse... rehearse!!!

And good luck! You are very funny.

You will do great. Depending on how much time you have...you could talk about how long you went to school and what you did at work. Maybe you could start with, "Have any of you been to the hospital...doctor...mom had a baby....been really sick....seen the hospital...whatever." Then ask them who took care of them (or their fam member)" and then go from there...that way they are interested. YOu could always bring your stethoscope and a BP cuff. You should definately wear your nurse gear. I would be nervous too! Owen will be beaming the whole time! Good luck Amber. (You could tie it all in to how it helps you be a good mom - the other career!)

I think it would be fun if you gave all the elementary kids a lesson on the "birds and the beads." I'm thinking it would be cool to start out the assembly with a little dance number to Salt-n-Pepa's "Let's talk about Sex" song. Be SPECIFIC, and bring props. educational and very detailed props. And pictures. Seriously. Don't leave anything out. The kids will LOVE it! (And their parents will too. I'm sure of it.)

No????? well, you DID ask for ideas. I'm just sayin....

P.S. Obviously I meant to write BEES instead of beads. I am secretly starting a jewelry shop on Etsy. And I have beads on the brain. Now I have shared my secret and my genius idea for the assembly. Man..you are one lucky girl. :)

P.P.S. If you could get Len to participate in the dance number, that would be awesome.
