independence day

We had a great 4th of July.  We had Grandma Valerie here with us.  She came for a little visit, and to do some gardening.  We spent all weekend in the yard.  We pulled out roots (very large ones), dug ditches, planted plants, pulled weeds, & worked ourselves sick!   On Saturday we took the evening off and went out to dinner!

We went to down town Springfield to watch the fireworks.  They shoot them off over the Memorial Bridge.  The close down the bridge and everyone watches from it.  It was packed!  We went with some ward members who took us to their "special" spot.  It was just off the bridge and it was much less crowded!  We had a lot of fun!

Owen wanted a picture of the fireworks!
Hope you all had a great holiday!

Congrats! It looks like you are enjoying your new surroundings. The house looks charming and your yard sounds like it is getting some much needed attention. I can't believe Owen is going to start kindergarten! I think I just might cry for you. Anyways hope you are making lots of friends and having fun.
