Surprise!

Friday afternoon we loaded the kids in the car and started driving.  Owen had no idea where we were going.  He had so many questions.  We drove until it was dark.  We ended up at a hotel where we spent the night.  In the morning we woke up and ate breakfast.  All the while, Owen was still asking questions.  We got back in the car and drove for about ten minutes.  Suddenly Owen saw this sign:

His response was:

  "We are in California!"

"We're at Disneyland!"
(he had to bring his stethoscope.)

He was so excited.  He couldn't sit still.  Then suddenly he said: "we came here alone, we forgot to bring Grandma Kate."  His face was suddenly very sad.  He began to cry and said: "I miss my Grandma Kate."  We assured him he would see her soon enough and he quickly changed his mood.  He was so excited to get inside and spend the day.  

It was a beautiful day in the park.  The sun was shining, the birds were chirping and the people were everywhere!  We had a lot of fun............more pictures to come!
