Jesus, Where are You?

Today was like any other day in our home.  By 7:00 am Owen had every toy in our house out, & he was playing with the empty garbage can.  Go figure.  So, I asked Owen to please clean up the trains & tracks.  They were everywhere, literally.  He of course whined & complained about how his arms were too tired, & that his legs wouldn't work.  I got distracted doing something else, & completely forgot about my request.

So, once again I asked him to LISTEN, & do what I asked him to do.  This goes on for another 10 minutes.  I hear whining from the other room, but I don't mind.  I am used to it.  I quite enjoy it.  Then it is quiet.  Owen is whispering something.  I can't make it out.

I continue cleaning in my room until I hear Owen from the other room say in perfect volume:

"Jesus, Where are you?"

I smile.  Owen quickly comes into my room.  "Mom, Jesus did not listen!  I asked for his help, & he didn't come!"

I laughed.  I then had to explain to him that Jesus would not come here to help him clean up his toys.

"Why?", he asked.

I had to think for a moment.  How do I explain this to him, without him loosing faith?

"Jesus doesn't work that way.  He will however, if you ask him to, help give you the energy to clean them up yourself."

"OK", he said.  He left my room.  I could hear in the family room.  He was saying a prayer.  I heard "Amen".

"Did it work?", I asked.  I waited in anticipation for his response.  I had very high hopes, he had said a prayer, & he was practicing great faith.  This was such a great learning experience for him, and then he responded with a firm voice.

"No, it did not work!"

I guess we have some work to do!

I'm doing wonderful. Tory and I got married July 7, 2007, so about a year and a half ago. Zoe is now 7 years old and fiesty as can be. Lori is doing okay. She got married and then decided it wasn't for her. I was wondering, how do you make it so on your list of people you follow on your blog you can see when the last time they blogged was? How are you liking Arizona? Do you have any places that you would prefer to go for Len's school? Are you guys coming down for Christmas? I saw Len last year at the mall around Christmas time. It's nice that both of your families live in one state. Talk to you later. Have a wonderful day.
